Then, we design for your success.

"I aspire to create spaces that fulfill our clients’ mission and business plan; it’s about who they are – not who we are."

David A. Hawkins, AIA, MBA, LEED AP

vice president | Architect

dhawkins@fhdesign.com

David Hawkins brings a keen architect’s eye and an unmatched sense of detail to every project.  As a creative problem solver and collaborative leader, he’s the perfect partner to keep projects moving on time and on budget.  He guides the team in producing comprehensive drawing sets that please both code officials and contractors – all marked by his signature attention to detail.  From quality control to code review to coordinating construction, David is the master of conquering the complex.  Whether exploring his love for restored vintage cars or developing the optimal solution for a client’s space, David focuses on the details that make a difference.  His drive to serve surfaced early in life through his achievement of Eagle Scout, where his service project focused on collecting discarded bicycles to refurbish for impoverished children.  Today, he is working on a 1790s family home helping to restore it to its former glory.  He has served as president for AIA Middle Tennessee Chapter, has been a registered architect in Tennessee since 1981, and is a NCARB-certified and LEED AP registered professional.

 What We Do

BNAGarageC041621_366-1260x840.jpg

Branding

Honing your company’s standards, values, and product into a cohesive visual identity.

At FH Design, we believe successful design starts with a precise brand strategy. Our team takes a deep dive into your overall goals to select design elements that communicate your brand message and allow people to interact with the brand in a physical space. The results are unique environments that are infused with your brand, reflect your culture, support your people and processes, advance your long-term strategy, and differentiate your space from your competition.

Interior Architecture

Designing a space that reflects your company’s culture and brand and promotes human interaction within the structural boundaries of a building.

As a full-service Interior architectural design firm, we are engaged throughout the design and construction process to manage extraordinarily complex projects from initial plans to the finishing touches. We create distinctive environments that are infused with your brand, support your vision and help drive your business. This includes materials, finishes, electrical requirements, plumbing, lighting, ventilation, ergonomics, and intelligent use of space.

Architecture

Creating form, space, and aesthetics that facilitate function, technology, and interaction while supporting the surrounding environment.

As architects, we design from the inside out. We create beautiful, thoughtfully designed structures and spaces that are functional, safe and sustainable. Our detailed drawings undergo an extensive quality-control process to make sure they are code compliant and sustainable. We also include thorough construction documentation and constructability. Permitting agencies get a complete intent of the project and have fewer questions, which shortens the plan review process. It also allows the contractor to proceed without change orders to keep the project moving forward.

Procurement

Selecting and procuring fixtures, furnishings, and equipment that support your brand and operations, and handling details for white-glove service.

Whether retail, hospitality, corporate, healthcare, or any other type of space, the FH Design procurement team delivers full-service furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E) procurement, project management, and installation services. We work hand-in-hand with suppliers to confirm each project meets quality and brand standards at a competitive price. Our dedicated team is focused on design, purchasing, project management, logistics, and installation so our clients can remain stress-free and focus on their business.
