FH Design Gives Nashville’s First Rooftop Lounge a Refresh
NASHVILLE, TN. – New hotels offering lounges with spectacular views of the city are opening in Music City while existing hotels are remodeling their properties to stay competitive.
Feltus Hawkins Design recently refreshed one of Nashville’s first rooftop lounges located atop the Fairfield Inn & Suites in The Gulch. The newly renovated Up lounge is a fun and inviting spot with indoor and outdoor space and unobstructed views of downtown Nashville.
Interior architectural design firm, FH Design, created a comfortable and vibrant space with wood-top tables, bright-colored cushions, durable furniture, and tabletop fire pits.
A mural painted by Nashville artist Audie Adams, dominates the south wall of Up lounge and provides a colorful backdrop for capturing selfies or Instagrammable memories.
“The drab concrete wall blocked views to the south of town, but it also presented an opportunity to create a signature piece for the lounge,” said Lizz Spearman, senior designer for FH Design. “Audie’s mural is his interpretation of the rolling middle Tennessee hills and landscape to the south of town you can’t see because of the wall.”
Planter dividers separate lounge pods and provide intimacy while allowing guests to still be part of the action. They also provide storage space.
“We needed a storage solution for the patio cushions and pillows so we had storage space built into the lounge pod dividers and ottomans,” said Spearman.
The Fairfield Inn & Suites hosted a “Live it Up Lounge party” for guests and VIPs to experience its newly refreshed rooftop patio. Guests listened to music by a capella group, Axiom, and enjoyed items from the hotel’s new #BrunchWithaView and fall menus. Up lounge first opened in 2014.
